‘Book early to avoid disappointment’, is a well known marketing adage. But it couldn’t be more true if you are thinking of studying English next year. Many language schools will be raising the cost of their courses in 2007. You can save up to 10% on the cost of your English course for next year by booking in the next few weeks. To incentivise students to book early for next year English language schools are offering courses booked for 2007 at this years 2006 prices.
‘In this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes’, so said Benjamin Franklin. Perhaps we could add to that English courses price increases. As we now come to the end of 2006, the new brochures are falling on Answer English’s doorstep with next years exciting new English courses and the 2007 price lists. Many schools are raising their prices by inflation (or more).
To avoid missing out on this chance to save money, please have a look at the courses on offer in our Learn English section. One school that is extending their offer right up till the end of the year is Malvern House. They have assured me that you have until 31 December to take up this offer. So if you have any questions or are interested in taking a course with Malvern or any other London Language School, please don’t hesitate to Contact Us.

New venue, same format. Last night we held the third of our Spanish English language evenings at Bar Room Bar in Gerrard Street. Despite bouts of flu and the onset of the Christmas season, 20 students of Spanish and English made it to the night. We had changed venues from La Tasca and people seemed to enjoy the more relaxed setting at BRB. We liked to mix it up a little so by the end most people had met most of the attendees. And everyone seemed to have a good time, chatting away in Spanish and English till closing time.
Congratulations go to our Quiz winners on the night with Rimple taking home the OUP English-Spanish dictionary and Esther the Spanish-English language CDs from Gazelle. This was not without the high drama of a tie breaker between Esther and Jorge over the size in square kilometres of the whole of South America. Jorge guessed first with a 100 million and Esther decided to go lower, and came out on top. (The correct answer is: 17,840,000 square kms).Â
Our thanks go to Gazelle and Oxford University Press for donating the quiz prizes and also to Bar Room Bar for hosting the evening. At the end of the night all the students got to take home a goodie bag. Our warmest appreciation goes to Spanish Express, Escuela Internacional, Don Quijote, Malvern House, Hot English Magazine and Euro Talk for their generosity in filling up our goodie bags. Last but not least thank you very much to everyone that came last night, and for making it such an enjoyable evening. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.
So you know, we are launching our first French - English evening next week. This is on Tuesday 5 December and will be at the same venue 32 Gerrard Street, Bar Room Bar. If you are interested in coming please contact James: james@answerenglish.com. The next Spanish night will be in the New Year. If you would like to see Photos from the night click on: Past Events (they will be going up on Monday) To keep up with our Language Learning Evenings go to: Social Events

Last night we held the second of our Spanish – English Language Learning Experiences. The night got off earlier than usual with our first learners arriving at a very punctual 6:30. Each Spanish or English speaker was greeted with a glass of Sangria and was sat down with fellow students of a similar level. And then the talking began. In the end La Tasca virtually had to throw us out as a lot of the group stayed until closing time at 11:00pm.
Congratulations go to our Quiz winners on the night with Marta taking first and Graeme second prize of Spanish-English dictionaries. These were kindly donated by Oxford University Press and were highly sought after! Our thanks also go to La Tasca for hosting the evening, Spanish Express, Don Quijote, Champs-Elysees, Malvern House and Euro Talk who kindly gave us a language learning DVD for the goodie bags.
We had record numbers with 33 language learners. Thanks to all of those that came. By most people’s accounts the evening was a success and lots of people said they would come again. The next Spanish night is on the 28 November, although we will be more than likely changing venues. If you would like to see Photos from the night click on: Past Events. To keep up with our Language Learning Evenings go to: Social Events
